Growing my dream…
I didn’t really have any friends and was almost 5 years younger than my brother, so I was also, basically, an only child. And in the early 80’s we didn’t have cell phones, computers and the internet (at least not in our house).
Now, don’t get out the tissues yet. It’s not as bad as it sounds. I had a great childhood. Full of love, support, and adventure.
We moved around a great deal. So making friends wasn’t an option for me. I also didn’t want the hassle of trying to keep in touch. I figured that by the time I wrote a letter and sent it out through the mail (actual paper, pen, envelope and stamp), we would’ve already moved. I was just saving myself and all my “potential” friends the hassle and heartache, so I just didn’t extend myself out there. And when I say “moved around” I mean I’ve been to appx. 15 different schools throughout my K12 education and traveled to 38 different states during that time as well.
I like big books and I cannot lie…
So instead of making friends at the many different schools I attended…
I turned to books to fill that void.
I always had a book, no matter where I went. I celebrated the highs and cried through the lows.
These books took me on so many adventures!
I slayed dragons, visited exotic islands, solved murders, you name it I did it. The words seemed to leap off the page at me!
As I got older, I realized I wanted to create these feelings in others.
I wanted to take people on adventures! I wanted to help people!
I wanted to write!
After, of course, becoming a superhero and a lawyer. 😉
My writing has evolved into helping businesses, marketers and freelancers achieve their goals. While I write a few books on the side.
And with the explosion of social media…
Well, it makes me happy that I can connect my past with my future 🙂
I divide my time between being a Superhero (increasing revenue), a Lawyer (not an actual one and I don’t even play one on T.V. but I do love a good cause) and Writing (creating campaigns).
I live in Buffalo, Minnesota, USA with my husband, 5 children, 2 dogs, countless chickens, amazing neighbors, & the best friends I could ever have dreamed!
