I looked up from the bins and totes and canned goods stacked all around me.
I was in the process of hunting down the cause of said odor when my mini-me busted into the room and stated the obvious.
While I was pretty sure we were dealing with a dead mouse, I just wasn’t sure exactly where it was coming from.
But it smelled like the pantry (at least that’s where the odor got a whole lot stronger anyway), and since I decided we didn’t need the exterminator anymore, it was on me to hunt the body down…
So, holding my breath each time I opened the door, I quickly ran into the pantry and pulled every item out… every last pan, can and bin.
Hunting for the source of the smell.
After what looked like a bomb going off in the kitchen and what felt like an eternity of holding my breath I finally moved the last item…
Hoping upon hope that somehow I would see the tiny little ball of fur that was causing so much stench.
I found nothing that would cause this type of smell!
Frustrated with my efforts and lack of ability to track down the stench, I cleaned everything and put it all back away.
Still wondering where the smell was coming from…
This happens in business all the time.
Freelancers trying to find a customer.
Instead of hiring a professional to guide you, you decide to go it alone.
Making one paltry attempt after another to find clients, all without success.
Never hitting pay-dirt.
You just keep telling yourself you’re making a difference and moving your business forward.
But in all reality… you’re grasping at straws and not only at the end of your patience but also the end of your funds.
Listen, I understand because I was there once upon a time too.
It knocks the wind right out of you and it’s real easy to say no when you’re starting out.
To do everything yourself and save money.
But in the end what are you really saving?
It sure isn’t time or money.
